Jumping up can be annoying and even dangerous behavior. What may be a momentary irritation and an extra trip to the dry cleaner for your adult guests may turn into an injury for elderly guests and could cause a lifelong fear of dogs in children. The key to stopping your dog from jumping up is to be consistent and calm when teaching him a more polite and appropriate way to greet people.
I am a veterinarian and have trained dogs for several years now. I am currently training my youngest dog in search and rescue have worked with a lot of success with the clicker and are needing a good way to wean off food.
